Homage to the master painters

As a photographer, I am always on the watch for light.  Sometimes light becomes the very subject of the photo itself.  When watching for it, it can appear right in front of you where you least expect it; soft lighting from a window, or strong shadows being cast across a brightly lit background.  In this case, strong side lighting across some fruit on the counter was producing beautiful highlights and deep shadows.  My eye was caught and I was off to grab my camera to shoot a few frames.

On reviewing the image, I knew right away that I had captured something that I was pleased with (which seems to be more challenging all the time).  With a bit of work in Lightroom, I was able to create an image that looks (to me) much like an old world painting from one of the great master painters.
